Brother MFC-L2700DW: reset a new toner cartridge

Use the held-OK prompt and star-zero-zero sequence on this keypad model.

The MFC-L2700DW uses a different entry sequence from the older MFC-7360N. The initial screen can mention the drum, but this procedure clears the toner counter without confirming a drum replacement.

Reset after fitting the new toner

  1. Turn the printer on and open the front cover with the new toner already installed.
  2. Hold OK until the drum-replacement prompt appears, usually after about two seconds. Do not confirm that drum prompt.
  3. On the numeric keypad, press star, 0, 0 in that order.
  4. Wait for Accepted, then close the front cover and allow the printer to return to Ready.
