Epson XP-630: black BK versus photo black PBK
The two black tanks are separate supplies; match BK or PBK as well as the family number.
1 min readThe XP-630 uses five 410/410XL tanks: black BK, photo black PBK, cyan, magenta and yellow. A black tank in the same numbered family is not automatically the one you need; check BK or PBK on the product and slot.
The printer combines the appropriate inks according to paper and job settings. Photo black is a separate colour in the nozzle pattern, so check that section when photos show gaps or poor dark detail.
Some Epson drivers offer temporary black-only printing after colour or PBK runs out. Use that only if the printer’s driver offers it; a cartridge-not-recognised message needs a different check.
